Video Unlimited will fall in line with PS Music and more.
Following Sony's announcement of their new partnership with Spotify
to provide PS Music, the Video Unlimited service is now set to be
re-branded and similarly integrated to the ecosystem with a new name - PS Video.
For the most part, the video service will largely remain the same and
continue to offer shows and movies to rent or buy in the same
territories as before. The re-branding will start from February with PS
Music to follow in the Spring of 2015.
Sony also confirmed its TV live streaming and catch up service Playstation Vue (currently in a small scale beta), is still scheduled for release in the first quarter of this year.
PlayStation Music will to coming 41 territories, including North and
South America, Europe, Asia and more in the Spring. Those with a active
subscription to Music Unlimited on February 28 will receive up to 30
days of free access to the service until it ceases operations on March
29, after which you may be offered an introductory Spotify Premium
trial. All users will be able to benefit from the the PS Music service
whether you have a Spotify Premium account or not, as the free
ad-supported service is still an option.
