The combination is... 1-2-3-4-5!
Security firm SplashData has released its list of the worst passwords in 2014, many of which remain unchanged from prior years.
PC Magazine reports that "123456" and "password" were once again the top ranking terrible passwords. Among the new entries were sports references "baseball" and "football," "696969" and "batman."
Other popular bad passwords follow sequential figures, like "qwerty."
Still others take the password rather literally and request access with
phrases like "letmein" or "access." One returning favorite is the
ironically unsafe "trustno1."
"The bad news from my research is that this year's most commonly used
passwords are pretty consistent with prior years," security expert Mark
Burnett said. "The good news is that it appears that more people are
moving away from using these passwords."
