"Business deals happen."
Microsoft's Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has weighed in on Street Fighter V's PlayStation 4 and PC exclusivity.
"Business deals happen. We won't do all of them. When we have a first party franchise in a genre I'd rather invest in ours," Spencer said on Twitter, when asked what he thought of the announcement.
The first party fighting franchise Spencer speaks of is, of course,
Killer Instinct -- which Microsoft acquired with the purchase of Rare
back in 2002.
Following the premature release of the game's reveal trailer, Street Fighter V was confirmed to be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PC by Capcom's Yoshinori Ono at PlayStation Experience.
The game will feature cross-platform play, and according to Sony's Adam
Boyes, "PS4 will be the only console this game ever appears on."
Regarding the next year for Xbox, Spencer said, "We have surprises, announces and great games shipping in 2015, we'll deliver on all three."
