The Crew Release Date Delayed

But a second closed beta is coming.

Ubisoft has announced The Crew will now be released worldwide on December 2.

The upcoming open world racer was previously expected on November 11 in North America and November 14 in Europe. The extra time will be used for a second closed beta on Xbox One and PS4 at some stage in November.

“Our philosophy remains to deliver the best game possible. We’re all committed to delivering a revolutionary experience in the driving genre and we can’t wait for The Crew to be in the hands of the players.” said creative director Julian Gerighty.

Originally slated for release sometime before March 31, 2014, The Crew was originally delayed deeper into the year along with Watch Dogs. As a result of this decision, the publisher saw its share prices fall. Hopefully the delay will be worth it; Ubisoft recently announced it's got internal sales targets for the game of about 2.5 million.
