The Fire TV stick has 4x the storage of Chromecast.
The Roku and Chromecast streaming sticks are already on the market, but
now Amazon is joining the lineup with the release of its new Fire TV stick coming next month.
The company already offers the Fire TV set-top, a streaming box with an emphasis on gaming, for $99 USD, while the Roku Streaming Stick and Chromecast are priced at $50 USD and $35 USD, respectively. You can currently pre-order Amazon's Fire TV stick for $39 USD.
The stick connects through an HDMI port, allowing you to watch shows
from sources like Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Instant Video in 1080p.
It also has 8GB of storage, 1 GB RAM, dual-band WiFi, a remote control,
and a voice search option for an additional fee. The Fire TV controller
will also be compatible with the stick to play games, such as Flappy
Bird Family.
Currently, Amazon Prime members can snag the Fire TV stick for $19,
however, that is just an exclusive two-day offer. The hardware is set to
begin shipping on November 19.
