Gamescom 2014: Battlefield Hardline Gets Car Chase and eSports Modes

Battlefield Hardline players will be able to take part in a high speed chase multiplayer mode and an eSports-focused mode when it launches next year, Visceral Games announced during the Electronic Arts Gamescom 2014 press conference.

Hotwire mode allows players to shoot out of the windows of speeding vehicles. The eSports-focused Rescue is a 5v5 mode with one life per round where players must save the hostage. Both modes were made playable for EA press conference attendees with kiosks.

Battlefield Hardline's 2014 release was pushed back into an early 2015 window. Visceral and EA decided to delay the cops and criminals shooter's launch in order to take on player feedback they received during the game's recent Beta.
