More performance and new tools to make games better.
The head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has revealed that the June Xbox One dev
kit will give developers more access to Xbox One computing power.
Taking to Twitter Wednesday, Spencer said “June #XboxOne software dev kit gives devs access to more GPU bandwidth. More performance, new tools and flexibility to make games better.”
Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi had mentioned in the past that
the company was looking at ways to make it easier for developers to get
more power out of the console. As Microsoft is planning to offer a Kinect-less Xbox One in June, and Digital Foundry reported 10 percent of the Xbox One's graphic resources are
reserved for the Kinect, the move may help close the performance gap
between Microsoft’s newest console and the PlayStation 4.
