Strap an arcade cabinet to your wrist and still walk around comfortably..
Nerd swag icon ThinkGeek is offering a wristwatch inspired by the classic arcade cabinets of yore. The watch will be available in March.
The analog timepiece, which draws inspiration from the arcade classic Asteroids, features a light-up face activated by pushing the cabinet's "fire" button. The watch's second hand is replaced by a spaceship, and "space rocks take the place of hours and minutes hands," according to the site.
"Press the 'fire' button to light up red the hour indicator dots on the
dial and revel in the "pew" sound as you destroy... several seconds of
your life," reads the site. "Unfortunately, the joystick is ornamental,
because we just couldn't fit any additional awesome into this watch.
The watch comes in a two-piece box "suitable for gifting," and will cost $59.99 USD.
People interested in the watch are encouraged by ThinkGeek to sign up
for an email alert when the watch goes on sale, or to add it to a
wish-list on the site.
