The first major update to Windows 8 is now available. Downloadable via the Windows Store, Windows 8.1 brings a host of changes for the desktop operating system, including the return of the Start button and new features like start screen customization and organization, expanded multitasking and search, and more.

Windows 8.1 is a free upgrade for all Windows 8 users, but those upgrading from an earlier version will cost $119.99 for the standard version and $199.99 for enterprise-centric Windows 8.1 Pro
